The gift of ubiquity is one of the most astonishing mysteries of the Universe, and consists of being present in various locations at the same time. It’s also called omnipresence, or bilocation when it refers to only two locations. The word ‘ubiquity’ comes from the Latin ubique, which means “everywhere.” A number of astonishing reports attest to the possibility of this phenomenon, which can happen to anyone.
Ubiquity is mentioned in a number of religions. Christianity talks about the ubiquity of Jesus Christ to explain his presence in the Host, also called consubstantiation, which originated in the wafers distributed during Christ’s Last Supper. In this case we’re not talking about the ubiquitous nature of the body, but of its subtle essence or soul which, according to Christian tradition, can be everywhere at once.
In the Old Testament, God had the ability to be omnipresent, to be everywhere at the same time. The ability is considered a basic divine attribute and, by extension, an ability reserved for beings who have attained a very high level of spiritual evolution. This kind of ubiquity is not considered accessible to ordinary people, but only to those who have developed and refined their spiritual natures. But as you’ll soon see, that’s not entirely true.
The Gift of Ubiquity Is Not Astral Traveling
There are astonishing reports in which a number of individuals swear, in all good faith, that they’ve seen someone with exactly the same physical characteristics, face-to-face, at exactly the same time. For some the gift of ubiquity consists of the ability to project energy-doubles of oneself outside one’s physical body, at will. That means ubiquity isn’t the same as astral traveling, which consists of leaving the physical body and projecting yourself to a location elsewhere. The gift of ubiquity allows people to appear in many places at the same instant. Also, masters of astral traveling cannot project energy-doubles that appear to be made of flesh. An astral body usually remains invisible to others, or will be transparent if it appears at all.
The Vatican’s Interdiction Finally Lifted
In 1960, the Congregation of the Holy Office, one of the highest authorities in the Catholic Church, interrupted the process of beautifying Sister Aimee for mysterious reasons. The Congregation even prohibited books from being published about her. It was later learned that the interdiction had been made because of a number of astonishing attributes she had, including stigmata (the appearance of marks of the Crucifixion on someone’s body), premonitions, the ability to speak foreign languages she’d never learned, and, of course, bilocation.
In her own monastery, Mother Yvonne-Aimee was known to appear in different places at the same time. Her ability was also witnessed during the German occupation of France, when highly believable sources attested to having seen her in her convent, at prayer in the chapel, while she was being held in a prison cell by the Gestapo.
After an inquiry, the Vatican had to admit that the phenomena were real, and many Church authorities were very moved, since bilocation was considered an attribute normally possessed only by God.
The prohibition to publish works about the saint-to-be were at least partially lifted in 1989. Father Laurentin, a theologian and expert on the Virgin Mary, was responsible for the lifting of the interdiction. Since then he has written a number of articles about Mother Yvonne-Aimee (you can find them on the Internet by searching for the name Father Laurentin).

The second time Marie Roca was seen in a place other than where she was happened in 2001. On that day her son, who was returning home from school, saw his mother on the way, wearing a black sweater with brightly colored stripes. By the time he reached his house, she’d disappeared. He found her in her office, where she said she’d been working for hours, exactly when her son thought he’d seen her in the street. And she was wearing the same brightly-colored striped sweater!
In both instances, Marie Roca had not tried to leave her body, making her case one of the more spectacular examples of involuntary bilocation.
