Walking Meditation

At its simplest, a walking meditation involves little more than
actually walking somewhere. Of course, there are small nuances and
differences that turn a regular stroll into something more powerful.

There are four main parts to a walking meditation:

1. Be aware of your breathing

We tend to take breathing for granted and, unless you're out of
breath for some reason, there's a good chance that your breathing
is as close to automatic as things get for us. Focus on your
breathing. Notice the feeling of the air as it travels through your
nostrils on its journey to your lungs. Notice it all the way down
and check out how it feels to fill your lungs with fresh air. Then
do the same in reverse as the used air leaves your system. Maybe
imagine all your stresses flowing out with the expelled air.

2. Be aware of your surroundings

Too often, we walk around on autopilot. Instead, become more aware
of the things around you. Notice the smells and colors and sounds.
You'll be surprised at just how many things you encounter that
you've passed on a daily basis yet never actually noticed before.

3. Be conscious of your body

Again, walking is something most of us are lucky enough to be able
to take for granted. Turn your focus to the processes going on in
your body as you walk. See how your arms swing. Feel your feet
touching the ground with every step. Notice how your shoes or other
footwear interact with your feet. Maybe even wiggle your toes
occasionally and notice how this affects other things. Feel the
breeze as it wafts across your head and body. We take all these
kind of things for granted normally, so have fun as you explore
them, maybe for the first time since you were a young child.

4. Reflect on your meditation

Let your thoughts flow through your mind. Allow some of them to
catch the breeze and simply float away - this is a great way to
deal with stress and other things that crop up in our busy daily
lives. Maybe expand on some of the thoughts that manifest as you
meditate. Turn your focus to some of the thoughts that would
otherwise only pay you a fleeting visit. Have fun with this
exploration process and allow it, in turn, to have fun with you.

The Simplest Success idea!!

I agree that it sounds like
common sense, but it's not commonly applied. When you really put
this idea into action, you can take your results to a whole new
level.

In a nutshell this was the lesson:

In life you will always have your ups and downs, your successes and
failures. Sometimes things go well for you. Sometimes they go
poorly.

When you succeed or fail, there's always a CAUSE. You can backtrack
your results to figure out what caused them. You might not be able
to do this perfectly, but you'll usually have a pretty good idea of
the contributing factors.

What caused your income, your health, and your relationships to
improve over the past few years?

What caused things to get worse?

Can you identify the specific causes of your best and worst results?

Once you know the contributing factors to your hits and your
misses, your goal is to deliberately do more of what causes the
successes and deliberately do less of what caused the failures.

Of course some of the contributing factors may not be under your
direct control, but some of those factors will be. Focus your
efforts on what you can control, and don't worry about what's
outside your control.

I must admit that it was hard for me. I thought this was an
oversimplification, but I decided to try it anyway. I thought maybe
he knew something I didn't. I figured I had nothing to lose.

What I discovered was there were several things that I was doing
that were not working very well, but I kept doing the same thing.
Also, there were several things that I was doing that worked really
well, but they were often neutralized by the things that were not
working so well.  In the end it seemed like I was running in place
or advancing very slowly.

You can apply this same idea to improve your results in any area of
your life -- your income, your career, your relationships, your
health -- even your spiritual development. Notice what creates a
success for you, and do more of it. Notice what causes less than
desirable results or a dry spell, and do less of it.

If you haven't had a success experience for a long time, you can
basically throw out whatever you're currently doing in that area
because it clearly isn't working. You'll have to experiment more
to figure out what does work. If you already know that your
current efforts aren't working, there's no point in continuing
along the same path.

You aren't doomed to become a victim of your past, but your past
surely contains clues that can help you enjoy an even better
present and future. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best!!!

Your Universal Mirror

Your current level of results is nothing more than a residual
outcome of your past thoughts, feelings and actions.  This has
nothing to do with what you are capable of becoming or who you are
capable of becoming unless you continue to make the same choices.

I can spend fifteen minutes with you and tell you what you've been
up to for the last five years - what you have been thinking,
feeling and acting upon. I can look at your bank account, your
business, your body, your relationships, your joy or lack of joy
and see where you have been focusing your attention because your
results are nothing more than a feedback mechanism.

Think about your results as a mirror. A mirror doesn't judge, it
doesn't say something is good or bad, right or wrong. It doesn't
edit or delete - a mirror just reflects back whatever is in front
of it.

Your universal mirror is very helpful because when you get to see
that, if you have been getting what you desire, you know you're on
your game. When you have less than pleasing results, that is just
the universe reflecting back to you where you need to adjust your
thoughts, feelings and point of focus.  In short, it lets you know
you are out of the flow in those particular areas.

There is no judgment involved.  It is just the universe saying
"Hello!"  "This is your tenth marriage, are you going to wake up?"
"Hello!"  "You're broke again, are you ready to find a better way to
stay in the flow and the stream of abundance?"

Never be discouraged about your less than pleasing results.  Use
them as a wake-up call that you are out of alignment and then use
what you are learning to put yourself back into the flow and back
into alignment.  At that point things MUST turn around for you.

Today will bring you a new awareness, a lesson or a manifestation
that you are making progress - IF YOU LOOK FOR IT!

To Your Growth

Mathematics is a beautiful reminder of the Law of Polarity, which states that there cannot be a problem without the answer also being available.

Built into the problem itself is the very answer we are seeking.  Too often people abandon the problem before finding their answer; they therefore miss the gift.  Einstein said, “It’s not that I’m so smart.  It’s just that I stay with problems longer.”

Life has a funny way of persistently giving us just the right size problems in order to keep us on the green-growing edges of our own becoming.  If you’re facing what looks like a large problem, receive it as a compliment from the Universe.

Today, let us stay with the problem so that we receive the gift.  Let us look upon challenges and obstacles for what they really are:  Opportunities for growth.

To Your Growth,

Enjoy Your Quiet Time

Sometimes in the course of our daily lives it seems like we are just so busy.

There are so many things to do.  Our “to do” list gets so long that we forget to create quiet time.  We forget to tune into our inner voice of wisdom.  That wisdom is always quietly calling us to a freer, fuller, more expanded way of living.

Create some quiet time today and ask the silence to speak to you about your life this day.  I believe that as we do that, each one of us will find that we are part of something that already is a miracle just awaiting our discovery.  Let’s listen deeply within ourselves and just say yes in our actions to whatever it is that we deeply feel guided to do today.

Enjoy Your Quiet Time
