Remove Distractions During Meditations

By Holly AllenderIt took me almost two years to start meditating, because I was under the misconception that I couldn’t do it. I held the ideal that I had to sit perfectly still for hours on end. This scared me. With a quiet mind, I was fearful of what I would find deep within me – either from my spirit guides or subconscious or distant memories. I was afraid to sit still with myself and just be. In reality, I found out that meditating just a few minutes a day can dramatically decrease stress, relax my mind and give me a fresh perspective. After a few guided meditations during yoga classes, I was hooked.
People have different meanings of what it means to meditate. The outcome is usually the same – for your mind and body to be calm, refocused and centered. How you go about doing this is up to you. There are plenty of articles, books and classes out there to teach you how to meditate. Below are techniques to help you start meditating or help you get refocused while meditating.
Focus and Purpose
There are people who can just sit down and fall into a meditative trance. I envy these people. I tend to need a focus of some kind and a purpose. For the purpose, decide what you want to accomplish in the meditation. If it’s to relax, then you might start with deep breathing. This will calm your mind and your nervous system. Your body will be able to relax, and you can transition into your meditation. If your purpose is to connect to a higher power, you might want focus on an image, statue, idea, or use a mantra.  By looking intently at the image or statue, your breathing will slow, again, allowing you to slide into meditation. Mantras are my favorite. By repeating a phrase over and over (usually in multiples of 108), the body relaxes, the breath becomes regular and fluid and your mind can focus on the mantra.
Exercise, Then Meditate
Part of the purpose of Hatha Yoga is to calm the body so that that mind can connect to a higher power (usually through meditation). Instead of just plunking yourself down to meditate, do about thirty minutes of yoga or other exercise beforehand.
Get Comfortable
While the picture of someone sitting in perfect lotus position is an ideal, it isn’t the most comfortable position for many people. Find your own comfortable position by sitting or lying down. If you can sit in lotus (sitting crossed-legged) that’s great, but not necessary. If you’re just starting out, sit in a chair or on a couch where your back will be supported. Sit up tall, and try to maintain this position throughout your meditation.
A River Runs Through It
The mind has a lot of thoughts that just run through it. Add to that the stresses of the day, lingering issues you may have and the constant checklist tallying what needs to be done. If these thoughts persist and distract you, imagine a gently flowing river. Pluck the thoughts from your mind, place them into the river and watch them float away. You no longer need to interact with them. However, if the thoughts return, imagine a large waterfall some ways down the river. Watch the thoughts tumble over the falls. They’re gone and will no longer bother you in your meditation (or the rest of your life, if you choose so).
Measured Breath
This one is good when you know you need to meditate, but can’t turn your mind off. Inhale for a count of three (one angel, two angel, three angel). Exhale for the same count. On your next inhale increase to the count of four, and exhale for the same count. Continue in this manner adding a breath at the beginning of each round until you reach a count of ten. Then reverse the order. After counting to ten, on your next inhale count to nine and exhale for the same amount. Continue until you reach three again. In essence, you have slowed down your nervous system, your breath and your mind
While there are many stress busting techniques available, nothing
is as simple and effective as relaxation through meditation.
Meditation is simply the process of cultivating inner peace within
our self and the world around you through a positive and spiritual
way. The essence of mediation is to create positive and peaceful
thoughts to bring peace to our mind. Meditation is the
transformation of the mind, body and soul.

The first step to meditation is to change our thoughts from being
negative to positive. And most meditation techniques simply involve
a process of transforming negative thoughts into positive and
peaceful thoughts. Through meditation, one embarks on a journey to
rediscover one self and to become free of negativity.

How to Meditate

  1. Create a quiet, relaxing environment. Free yourself from any
external distractions, your cellphone in particular.
  2. Sit on a chair or a cushion; make sure you are comfortable in
that position. Take care to sit erect, allowing for free and easy
breathing
  3. Keep head upright. Eyes may be closed or open. If open they
should focus on your hands or a spot nearby.
  4. Breathe in a relaxed and natural way. Exhale at the count of
ten. Then begin again at one and repeat. Continue to breathe
naturally.
  5. Continue for 15 minutes.

Different Types of Meditation

Meditation is a great way to get to know yourself better. People
who meditate tap into their higher consciousness and create balance
between themselves and their environment. The benefits of
meditation have been seen by the millions of people who engage in
it. Higher self-confidence, a positive outlook, and good physical
health are all benefits resulting from having daily meditation
sessions. There are many ways to meditate, but you need to find the
method that will work for you. This can be a trial and error process.

Different Ways to Meditate
==========================

We will go into several different ways to meditate here. Remember,
if one method does not work for you, then go ahead and try
meditating in a different fashion.

-       Sit Down-This is the most common form of meditation. Find a
comfortable spot (upon a cushion) and cross your legs. The room you
sit in should be well lighted. Do not sit in a dark room. Your
brain needs light in order to be stimulated. You can close your
eyes, or leave them open, or open them halfway. If you plan on
closing your eyes, just be sure the room is extra bright, so that
some light penetrates through.

-       Sit and Stand-You may feel more comfortable using a combination
of sitting and standing. This will help loosen your body in case
you are getting physically uncomfortable. Meditate for twenty
minutes sitting down, then stand up for a few minutes before
returning to your sitting position for another session of the same
length.

-       Gaze into the Mirror-If you are looking for different ways to
meditate, try sitting in front of a mirror. Focus your attention to
the back wall, and not on your face. This will help your mind
unwind. Meditate for twenty minutes, stand up, and then sit back
down again for another twenty minutes.

-       Meditation Chairs-These special chairs help you keep your body
posture straight. These chairs are perfect for those who have
trouble staying still in the sitting position.

6 Ways to Take Back Control

By Alina Mikos

We’ve all been there. Maybe it was a bad day at work; perhaps you’ve just broken up with your significant other, or had a fight with your best buddy. There are plenty of reasons to feel anger or frustration which you can easily take with you into the car, and out on the road. Here are a few guidelines that’ll help keep your anger reined in, and put the level-headed you back in the driver’s seat.
1. Don’t Fuel the Fire
Surprisingly, people will often set themselves up for a road rage blowout by making the wrong choices in their immediate environment – the interior of their car. Listening to angry music, or music that makes you emotionally heated while driving, is asking for trouble. Music tone, temperature control, and a clean car go a long way toward making your time on the road more enjoyable. You may not be able to control events or the people outside of your vehicle, but you can make the interior of your car as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
2. Change Your Mindset
Just as listening to aggressive music can make you angry behind the wheel, so too can peaceful soothing music set your agitated mind aright. Try not to ruminate on all the stresses you dealt with that day, or on any other topic that can shorten your temper while sharing the road. Focus instead on the things that make you smile – the positive feelings regarding some event, person or pet that brings joy into your life. Laughter is a great antidote as well. Having sufficient perspective to laugh at yourself or another rageful driver’s actions on the road will dilute much of the frustration immediately.
3. Put Yourself in Other’s Shoes
Focus on what you may have in common with other drivers on the road. Just because you are feeling frustrated doesn’t mean that everyone around you isn’t feeling the same. Are the weather conditions awful? Is the traffic so backed up that you’ve been sitting in traffic for hours? By staying connected to the drivers around you and realizing that you’re all in this mess together, you may find a sense of peace in the sense that you’re not alone in your discomfort.
If someone is showing signs of road rage, instead of allowing them to antagonize you, dragging you into their mind set and drama, recall a time when you have been irritated on the road or in a rush. Whatever behaviors they are exhibiting, there’s a good chance at some point you have done the same.
4. Stay Tuned In
Being aware of what’s going on in your mind and body is the first step towards anger management. What are you feeling – and conversely, what are you thinking about – that’s making you feel the way you do? Ask yourself: Are you cussing and snarling in that driver’s seat, repeating a mental mantra in your head that curses and insults everyone around you? Listen to your body’s response to your emotions. Is your pulse racing, hands shaking, your vision blurred? If you experience any of these symptoms, you need to check yourself immediately. Start working on resetting your body to normal levels by following the next few pointers.
5. Just Breathe
When you notice that your emotional upset is manifesting itself in physical ways, the first step is to just breathe. Deep, slow breaths will instantly lower your blood pressure. Imagine yourself releasing all of your tensions with every breath you exhale, repeating the process until you feel more level-headed. The fact is, when the body is in a relaxed state, and breathing regularly, more oxygen is flowing to the brain, allowing you to think more clearly, be more alert, and let you to make better decisions behind the wheel. All of these important factors are compromised when you are close to or already in a rage.
6. Isometric Exercises
A way to relax your body is to try some minor isometric exercises, which don’t require you to take your eyes off of the road. Squeezing the steering wheel, then releasing the tension can be a very effective form of exercise for stress release. Doing this on various parts of your body alternately, one muscle at a time – squeezing, then relaxing –

~ Future Causation ~ By Aine Belton...

By shifting your future orientation you can alter your current state radically. By connecting to your optimum future you create a pathway
to that future which, by law of resonance, changes you now.
"The means to getting there are the qualities of being there."
- Lazaris
As a practical example, if your employer was sending you on a trip to eitherHawaii, or to a dingy town with high crime rates, you'd experience very different states in anticipation of your trip. Your future is always influencing your present.
The good news is, you can choose the future that you want to influence you and learn to connect with that future, which will create a bridge tothat future and act as a portal for its manifestation in your world.
When you connect to your future at a level where you experience that future's existence in the present, you engage all the qualities of that future and align your vibration to it.
"Dwelling from not upon the future you desire is the fastest way to change absolutely everything."
- Mike Dooley
Just think about. If you knew you could not fail, that your future was filled with dreams come true and that your hearts' desires would inevitably manifest, how would you be feeling right now? Pretty good! You'd be feeling the very feelings of that luminous future (which is the key to it's manifestation in the present).
Imagine the joy, confidence, peace, expectancy, freedom, excitement, security and so on. These feelings can be the result of future causation, created by the connection to that very future's existence, energy and essence, and can serve to attract that future into your reality now.
Essentially, time and space are an illusion. The future you desire already exists. Instead of trying to imagine what that future will be like from your present, you can travel to that future and experience it for real.
You can use future causation to accelerate the manifestation of and drop into your reality your desired dreams and visions.

This has been one of the most profound techniques I have used. The insights I have received in connecting to a desired future in this way have gone beyond the limits of my present imagination or what I would have consciously contrived.
I have been gifted with information and states of being that have been way 'outside the box' and have changed me and my reality in the present. This is why I call it Future Causation for it can instantly and radically shift your current state of vibration.
What is most important is connecting with intention to the energy and essence of that future, even if you are as yet unclear of what that future will look like or what you desire it to be. This is helpful when you are still formulating your dream life on the inside as it enables you to start attracting your brightest future by connecting to the energy of that future and in such aligning your vibration to it to set the law of resonance in action.
All futures are possible, yet some are more probable than others depending on your current directional trend. Don't let that trend be the worn out track of your past. Decide on a bright future and let it be the light that crafts your way.
Connect to it and that future you, create a relationship with them, develop a gateway by communicating with that future and holding a vision with your heart and mind, and allow it to have voice in your world today.
What kind of decisions would that future you make, how would they think, feel and be? What solutions would they find, what successes would they create, challenges overcome and so on?
Your future is always influencing your present. The good news is you can choose the future you wish to influence you and allow it to change you right now.
Practice stepping into your future on a regular basis. Hold a 'future perspective' when making decisions, setting goals or dealing with challenges.
What would that future you, the healed, empowered, loving, successful self that you are becoming, think, feel and be? Connect to that future and allow it to have voice in your world today in the thoughts, feelings and actions you choose.
Visualizing the outcome of your goals vividly, and as much the essence as the form (i.e. the feelings and qualities of your goal as well as tangible characteristics), is one way to activate future causation. Instead of 'trying' to imagine your outcome, however, relax deeply or enter a meditative state and allow yourself to journey to it/step into it 'for real'.
This is exactly what the guided Manifesting Blueprint Meditation entails. You will travel to the future you desire to manifest and immerse yourself in it on all levels.
You can also enter a meditation and meet your brightest future. Set that intention, imagine yourself in a safe place in nature (such as beach, meadow or grove), and allow your optimum future self to come to you by. Don't worry or think too much about what they look like, if they're much older than you or not or whether you can visualize them clearly or not, for it's the energy and essence that's important here, not the form.
When they come to sit or stand opposite you, get a sense of them. What do they feel like to you? How are they different from you in terms of their energy and what you can sense? What stands out about them?
Open your heart and get a feel for them and their presence. You can ask them for advice and insight or simply experience them and allow them to fill you with their gifts, energy, inspiration, guidance and qualities.
Perhaps you imagine light flowing from them into you - into your heart, or mind, or flowing from their hands to yours. At the end of the meditation let them merge and become one with you. The more you practise this, the easier it gets and the more profound the experience will become.
You may receive healing transformations, flashes of insight and inspiration, new perspectives and visions and wonderful feelings of love, joy, freedom, empowerment and clarity...

How to Clean Up quick....

By Wendy-

I recently tried something new and it worked like a charm!  At one
point last week my house was completely upside down.  My husband
joked and said it was like running the gauntlet - having to dodge
clothes, shoes, toys . . . you name it, on the floor just to get
from one end of the house to the other.  We had to do something.  I
initiated the first "10 ticket clean-up."

The timer was set for 15 minutes.  Each child was given 10 tickets.
At the end of the 15 minutes, I collected a ticket for each item I
found from the owner of that item.  It worked great!  We have had a
second clean up - when we had only a 30 minute warning for home
teachers to come over.  The kids knew the drill this time - it
worked even better the second time.  This is a great way to get my
house in order quickly!

Manifesting Wealth by Mr. Karim Hajee

Manifesting wealth and abundance should be easy.
You shouldn't have to struggle to make money or attract wealth.
Having more money makes your life easier and allows to
do many of the things you want.
But if you don't have the wealth you want, if you're not
making the kind of money you want, if you're not manifesting
wealth and abundance then you're simply not sending out the
right messages to have more of what you want.
Those messages are your thoughts and beliefs.
And what ever thoughts and beliefs you have about money and
manifesting wealth will become a part of your life.
I know you may want to make and have more money.
You likely want to enjoy greater wealth so that you can be
free to do the things you want.
And you can have as much as you want.
All you have to do is think and believe in a certain way so that
you attract the wealth and opportunities to help you be wealthy.
Unfortunately most people don't believe they can make the kind of
money they want and the don't believe that they can be wealthy.
Why does this happen?
Well at some point in your life you developed a negative thinking pattern,
the kind that doesn't all you to manifest wealth quickly and easily.
This pattern was planted on your subconscious mind.
Your subconscious creates your life based on the thoughts and beliefs.
When it comes to manifesting wealth, your subconscious simply follows
your beliefs about wealth.
Negative or limiting beliefs about money have no purpose...
they don't let you get ahead or live the life you want and
they certainly won't let you become wealthy.
Instead, they'll drive you right to the poor house or worse...
You need to eliminate or change any negative beliefs about money
even if times are tough or if there's a recession.
The truth is that in recessions people still make money.
People still find jobs in recessions.
Businesses do grow.
New businesses form during tough times.
So what can you do?
Change your negative thoughts and limiting beliefs.
Get rid of them.
How?
Track your thoughts.
When you have a thought that supports those beliefs change them.
Create a belief that says something like...
Another way is to create affirmations that counter those beliefs.
You could say something like... it's easy to make money.
I know what to do to make millions.
I'm doing the right things to make.
Focus on what you want.
Regularly think about building wealth.
Constantly search for new ways to make more money.
